The Men's 2s sealed an emphatic 8-1 win over rivals Didsbury Northern while the Ladies' 2s also battled to a win over the University of Salford.

Captain Ric Clarke and Man of the Match Sully Ahmed helped themselves to a brace each as the Men’s 2s dispatched Didsbury Northern Men’s 6s 8-1 at the weekend.

Aaron Kelly, Suart Higginbotham, and brothers Owen and Lewis Monk also netted in the rout which saw the Greens leapfrog their opposition into second place.

The win stands the team in good stead for next week’s fixture against league-leaders Horwich who will be defending a 100% record.

Moe Rothwell scored twice as the Ladies’ 2s battled to a 2-1 win over the University of Salford 1s without last week’s four-goal hero Lisa Jordan-Dickenson.

Starlets Isobel Seed and Isobel Povah shone alongside the gritty determination of the team with Tamsyn Gray’s heroics in goal key to fending off a late rally from the students.

Stefan Wasilewski opened his scoring account for the season with two goals but it was not enough for the Men’s 1s to see off the challenge of a much-improved Lytham St Anne’s side who won 3-2.

Mike Tonge’s tenaciousness and trickery earned himself the Man of the Match award as lady luck evaded the Greens once again.

The Ladies’ 1s also fell 3-1 to Wilmslow with Stacey Bell scoring the Greens only goal in a very tough game for the side.

Wilmslow started the game brightly with two early goals and despite Urmston’s battling it was too much of a hill to climb as they fell to defeat.
