Men's 1s seal fifth straight victory while 3s hit Bowdon with 5-star show.

James Duke’s Saturday brace set the Men’s 1st XI on their way to a perfect weekend as they took six points from two games against tough opposition.

Duke was joined on the scoresheet by a penalty stroke from Robin Cooper in a 3-0 win over West Derby Men’s 1st XI.

Jonathon Downes continued to show his huge potential with a mature Man of the Match performance while Kris Wood picked up a green card.

On Sunday, two more strokes from Cooper, another for Duke and a goal for Ollie Cooper helped the team to a crucial winner over promotion hopefuls Wilmslow Men’s 1s.

Chris Martin turned in an assured Man of the Match performance with Scott Bailey tackling his way to a yellow card.

Danielle Harvey’s brace rescued the Ladies’ 1st XI after they found themselves a goal-down to Didsbury Northern Ladies’ 2s.

Despite dominating the majority of the match, Didsbury broke the deadlock first before Harvey’s late show pulled home all three points with Lois Oliver picking up the Players’ Player award.

The Men’s 3rd XI sealed a crucial 5-1 win over Bowdon Men’s 8s with Captain Tom Frame and Josh Edwards marking their long-awaited returns with goals.

They were joined on the scoresheet by Chris Seed, Mike Tonge and Matt Podmore with Jim Mair picking up Players’ Player and Tom Raikes impressive as Captain’s Player.

Dan Downes scored as a depleted Men’s 2nd XI fell 7-1 to West Derby 2s in a tough game for the Greens despite Josh Weaver’s impressive Man of the Match display.

Opposition’s Player Isobel Seed’s hat-trick couldn’t save the Ladies’ 2nd XI as they fell 5-3 to Didsbury Northern Ladies’ 5th XI despite impressive performances from sisters Faye and Grace Wilson.

Meanwhile, the Ladies 3s fell 5-0 to a strong league-leading Didsbury Northern 6s side with Faye Wilson picking up another Players’ Player award.

Gabrielle Weaver shone in midfield while Tamsin Greig impressed Didsbury as Oppositions’ Player.
