What a spectacular couple of weeks it has been for Urmston Hockey Club! As the season draws to a close, we came together over two fantastic weekends to celebrate the incredible achievements, energy, and community spirit of both our junior and senior sections.

From our youngest superstars to our senior award-winners, here is how we wrapped up an unforgettable year.

Future Stars Shine Bright at the Junior Presentation Afternoon
On Sunday 7th June, our junior section took over for their end-of-session ceremony, and what a fab turnout it was! The energy was absolutely electric, and the clubhouse was buzzing with smiles, laughter, and very proud parents.

Our under 8s, 10s, 12s, and 14s were all recognized for their hard work, growth, and team spirit this season. A massive shoutout goes to Charlotte O'Toole, Bronwen O'Toole, and Kelly Davies, who put on an amazing afternoon and do such a fantastic job keeping our junior section thriving.

Sun, Sticks, and Silverware: The Senior AGM & Awards Night
The celebrations continued on Saturday 13th June as the senior section gathered for the annual AGM and End of Year Ceremony.

We kicked off the day in true Urmston style with a brilliant, fast-paced mixed game of hockey, letting everyone blow off some steam and show off their skills one last time this season. Afterward, the sunshine and good vibes carried us into the evening as everyone headed down to the clubhouse to raise a glass, share a few drinks, and celebrate together.

The centerpiece of the night was our annual awards ceremony. Competition was fierce this year across all our squads, with accolades handed out for outstanding skill, commitment, improvement, and, of course, a bit of team banter!

Women’s 1s & 2s and Men’s 1s & 2s: Each team crowned their respective winners for Player’s Player, Leading Goal Scorer, Captain’s Player, Most Improved Player, and the highly anticipated Wally of the Season!

Women’s Development: Celebrated their rising talent with awards for Player’s Player, Leading Goal Scorer, Most Improved Player, and Captain’s Player.

Club-Wide Honors: Massive congratulations to our Male Young Player, Female Young Player, and the prestigious Club Person of the Year!

An enormous congratulations to all of our well-deserved winners across every single team!
